Coming up with a title for my memoir was more challenging than I expected. I adapted my beginning title, “Working While Blind,” from the expression “driving while black,” as a main theme of the book was how I dealt with the subtle and not-so-subtle discrimination I experienced while working.
“That title is out-of-date,” a prospective publisher proclaimed at a local coffee shop.
